In this video, Dr. Stéphane Verguet introduces Extended Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (ECEA), what it includes and how it relates to traditional cost-effectiveness analysis, and the key four domains for a given health intervention: health benefits; financial risk protection benefits including the amount of private expenditures averted; distributional consequences (e.g. across socioeconomic status); cost of the intervention.

Students are introduced to the purpose and objectives of ECEA, how ECEA builds on cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) to explicitly incorporate equity impact evaluation in health economic evaluations, including the distribution of health effects and the distribution of financial risk protection.
