This study evaluates public risk perception of COVID-19 around the world in ten countries across Europe, America, and Asia. They found that significant predictors of risk perception included personal experience with the virus, individualistic and prosocial values, hearing about the virus from friends and family, trust in government, science, and medical professionals, personal knowledge of government strategy, and personal and collective efficacy. This resource pack on the cost-effectiveness of herpes zoster vaccination was curated to support Dr. Lisa Prosser's seminar on November 9, 2017 at the Center for Health Decision Science. Dr. Prosser discussed an economic evaluation of vaccination against herpes zoster. Herpes zoster—more commonly known as shingles—presents a major burden for older Americans but, until recently, the only available vaccine (Zoster Vaccine Live, ZVL) was relatively ineffective past 10 years. This paper provides a short introduction to the use of benefit-cost analysis to assess interventions undertaken at the city or municipal level. It introduces the concepts that underlie the conduct of benefit-cost analysis, describes the major analytic components, and discusses how to tailor the analysis to the characteristics of the policy and the resources available. It concludes with a list of references for those interested in learning more.

This lesson plan from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was curated to teach high school students, grades 9-10, to explore decision-making around natural disaster emergencies. The lesson includes a video, public health emergency response data, and a response plan. It explores interactive cases of cholera in Haiti after an earthquake and breaks down risk factors and different approaches to the scenario. Students make informed decisions based on this data, exploring public health…
