This brief “primer” assists healthcare providers in correcting a growing body of misinformation surrounding COVID-19 vaccines. Their rationale included questions about vaccine efficacy, potential side effects, or speeding through regulatory approval processes. Policymaking during a pandemic can be extremely challenging. As COVID-19 is a new disease and its global impacts are unprecedented, decisions are taken in a highly uncertain, complex, and rapidly changing environment.
