Global Human Development Indicators: Country Profiles

2022

This web portal, published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), provides the most recent human development data for countries across the world. Topics examined range from health and education, to poverty and human security. Each online country profile also links to a downloadable data table and a briefing note for its country.

The Human Development Report Office releases five indices each year: the Human Development Index (HDI), the Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI), the Gender Development Index (GDI), the Gender Inequality Index (GII), and the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). These indices reflect the UNDP human development concept, which emphasizes that people and their capabilities should be the ultimate criteria for assessing the development of a country, not economic growth alone.
