GBD: Data Visualizations Portal

2023

This portal, from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), provides a repository of data visualizations from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) studies. The portal allows users to browse a variety of visualizations which display GBD data through responsive color graphs and charts.

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) studies form the largest-ever systematic effort to describe the distribution and causes of a wide array of major diseases, injuries, and health risk factors by examining national and sub-national data across populations worldwide from 1990 to the present. Led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, it is a global effort, with more than 2,300 researchers from 130 countries, including numerous low- and middle-income countries, participating in the most recent update. Estimates from the GBD study may differ from national statistics due to differences in data sources and methodology.
