Video: Part 3. Using Test Information I

2022

This multimedia segment, Part 3. Practice Using the Odds-LR Form of Bayes, includes one video. The video provides a hypothetical example of two individuals undergoing screening for lung cancer, in which the prior probability of lung cancer for both individuals is the same. Using the test information provided, students practice calculating the posterior odds of disease using the odds-LR form of Bayes. In addition to the videos, materials include an instructor's note, companion slides, a glossary, an annotated bibliography, and sample exercises.

Multimedia segment, Part 3. Practice Using the Odds-LR Form of Bayes (Video 3.1) was designated to follow Part 1. Interpreting Information (Videos 1.1, 1.2) and Part 2. Using Likelihood Ratios (Videos 2.1, 2.2).

This teaching pack was developed by Sue J. Goldie at the Center for Health Decision Science, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The multimedia components were developed as part of a series of pilots in the CHDS Media Hub, led by Jake Waxman, where media-based pedagogy experiments contribute to new ways of thinking about short form content.
